The 2022/23 NFL season is in full swing and each side, across the AFC and NFC are putting on displays to reward football fans for the wait for competitive matches since February’s Super Bowl.
As the teams all prepared for this season, free agency was busy, the NFL Draft caught the attention of the world again, and head coaches and general managers looked to settle their rosters for successful seasons.
Some of the teams to get off to the strongest starts include:
Buffalo Bills
As the season began, the Bills were considered one of the key favorites to be lifting the Super Bowl come February 2023. Having spent so much time in the shadow of conference rivals the New England Patriots, they have shown themselves to be true title contenders this season.
Led by Josh Allen at Quarterback, they have a player who manages the offense impressively while having the ability to put up big plays in every game. He is a legitimate MVP front runner in the NLF lines, and his side will dominate most teams in the league on any given Sunday.
They are off to an impressive 3-1 start, stumbling once against a Miami Dolphins side who took many by surprise.
Miami Dolphins
The AFC East has two sides off to great starts, and as just mentioned, the Florida side have the early season bragging rights over the Bills.
Miami are also at 3-1 this season after losing out to last season’s Super Bowl runners up, the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-15 in week four.
One of the biggest signings of the off season was Tyreek Hill to Miami from the Kansas City Chiefs. He adds more electric pace alongside fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, which gives corner backs across the league cold sweats when preparing to go up against them.
Hill and Waddle both managed two touchdowns and over 170 yards each in the 42-38 win over the Baltimore Ravens in week three. They are really something to watch this year.
Baltimore Ravens
That defeat was a tough one to take to Miami, but the Ravens themselves have been in fine attacking form once again.
They are 2-2 this season, losing both home games but winning both on the road after four weeks. They have notched up 119 points in four games, and conceded 100, making them such an exciting team to get behind.
Lamar Jackson is once again showing how big of a threat he can be, through the air, his running as well as how he manages the offense. At times he is their leading rusher on the field while he also spreads the ball around a variety of options in the passing game as well.
The defense need to get back to being the physical powerhouse they have previously been, but this is a great side to follow each week.
Kansas City Chiefs
There is no stopping Patrick Mahomes once again. Each week he comes out bringing composure and excitement, producing throws no one can predict or even see while he is doing it.
Having had Tyreek Hill taken away from his offense this off season, he is working with a new group but still getting the results already. As the Chiefs have time to gel more in the NFL, they will be a worrying prospect for most defenses that come up against them.
With Travis Kelce still on the roster they have one of the best tight ends in the league and a player so big and strong he can do it all across the offense. Often the most relied upon target for Mahomes, Kelce is off to another big start as the Chiefs began the year 3-1 after four weeks.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles were the last team to have an unbeaten record, finishing week four the only team with a 4-0 record.
Jalen Hurst is stepping up at quarterback in a throw happy offense, as well has having the legs to make a big impact on the ground as well.
Sitting top of the NFC East they have scored 115 points, while only giving up 71, winning twice on the road and twice at home.
A.J Brown looks a dangerous weapon at wide receiver and Miles Sanders is running hard from running back. They are reaching a number of different targets each week which is making them hard to predict and tough to defend against.
They will be confident in competing like this throughout the season and a strong pick to win the NFC East this year.
Each conference brings exhilarating match ups and each week new story lines pronounce themselves. We have already had games being played in England, and each team has gone out looking to be offensive and put on a show for the fans in the crowd.
With the number of targets wide receivers are getting, the aerial game is one that even the neutrals can enjoy. There are very few teams relying on their defense this season.
